For almost half a year, I've been using Adbrite to sell ad space.
Adbrite is great cause they don't have very rigorous standards for blog submissions. If you get ANY traffic at all and your blog does not contain offensive images, you'll most likely be approved to carry Adbrite Ads.
You can choose which ads appear on your site or let Adbrite choose for you.
My best month so far was just over $30.00 for my free movies online blog.
Not bad, considering that I usually only get around 1000 visitors to that blog daily. That's kind of low. But still, I earn good part time income from my advertising. If I were to increase my page views by ten fold, I could earn well over $100 monthly with Adbrite.

Google is notorious for shutting down accounts for any and all reasons.
I've never heard of Adbrite shutting down an account over misunderstandings.
